A day to remember at The Bus Stop.
18 boats hit the water today and the same number of very keen skipper drove their boats hard today. There were casualties, some breakdowns and others just diving into the bulrushes to check what the ducks were up to.
West wind with some strong gusts and heavy shifts kept the fleet on their toes. The spectators were going ballistic at times.
Nigel 168 set a great gated course to handle the large fleet, but there was the odd loud thump a few times. The strong gust when negotiating marks sometimes put the skippers on notice. It's a good idea to abandon the rounding if you can't handle it and have another go.
Wonderful racing today with skippers talking their moves and taking a penalty when necessary.
Visitors from Matata and Papamoa today, thanks for coming guys. For those who didn't make it today, we all feel so sorry.
Three RTW's today, Pat 39, Adrian 136, and Bob 909 were victorious, well sailed guys.
Enjoy the photos
