Ian Power(V11) wins the (slightly depleted) October Metre Monthly, from Neil Deveril (D6) and Mike McLachlan (K2).
A total of 10 boats turned up for the Labour Monday Metre Monthly at Wattle Farm.
The smaller turnout was not unexpected on a holiday weekend but the surprise was that we had representatives from Kerikeri, Tauranga, Gulf Harbour, and North Shore clubs plus 4 from Wattle Farm.
The wind was true to the forecast of 10 to 15 knots from the South rising to 18 knots plus in the afternoon.
This was top of A Rig sailing plus a bit which made for some fast downwind legs with a few spectacular wipe-outs.
We completed 18 races with 7 different winners but Ian Power #85 was the most consistent with 6 wins.
