My Aussie Road trip is coming to an end soon. After a big fantastic weekend of sailing it was, so time for a chill day. I got up 6.30am and went out for a 5km jog around the block (they have big blocks here :) so 10km later found my way back home... ) Shower and breakfast then we pulled out Bruce's IOM TS2 yacht from the shed. A beautiful 20 year old hull machine that has been thrown alot of love and has been rebuilt and painted to perfection. The engineered home built rigging all worked well but was not matching the center of ballance of the hull. We moved the rig back and increase the jib topping lift tension. After a fun day fidling bits and pieces on the iom she was ready to hit the water. 7pm we shot over to lightsview model sailing club for a shake down sail. We put her on the water and straight away had a teething problem and hooked a sheets. A quick re tape over some bolt heads and she sailed beautifully with no further issues for the rest of the evening. President of the lightview club, Bruce Backman who lives at one of the lake apartment block came and joined us with his club Df65"s. A few people had a go on his 65 yacht and we all drifted around for a couple of hours. As darkness fell we packed up the iom, leaving Bruce still sailing with his 65 into the night with his night lights on his deck all turned on. What an amazing sight. Fantastic Bruce :) A quick dinner, then some sleep. Tomorrow will be last day playing with boats in Aussie before I fly back home Wednesday morning.
