8.30am we rocked up to the Lakes.
The team was already in action with the dinghy's in the water and the tent on the way.
Sailors started rolling in and everyone had a great catch up.
10.15am Briefing and then down to the water for two starts at 10.30am.
The 900mm plus boats to the South on the Big Marks with Ro Bruce Mc
and the under 900mm boats to the North with RO Graham R on the small marks.
The weather man said south east, but us locals knew the sea breeze would try to come in from the North West. (100% opposing breezes)
The starters sounded on time and the sailors had to make do 360 degree rotating winds.
11.45am and we headed up for lunch and another catch up while the sea breeze slowly started win the day.
The afternoon session sea breeze made for much better sailing for everyone and hopefully had a good time and went home very tired from the big days session.
It was great to see Keith with his electron. A truly amazing J Class with gaff rig
The two foiling Multihulls and a great turnout of IOM's, DF95 and DF65's with sailors traveling long distances from Waihi, Whakatane, Kawarau and Opotiki. Good effort sailors...
Nigel's report on facebook :)
