It was a yucky day and the locals must have thought we were nuts at The Bus Stop.

I checked every weather forecast I could find and they all said it wasn't going to be much of a day at The Bus Stop. Watching the WhatsApp group traffic for the Papamoa Ponds suggested something similar for them. I loaded up two boats, one with 'A" Rig and the other with 'B' Rig as the breeze was very unpredictable, but black clouds generally suggest heavy weather.

I arrived early at The Bus Stop to find three hardy chaps in position and sailing, Clive 997, Nigel 168, and Pat 39, so with me it made four. Nigel 168 was on his 'B' Rig, so I went for the same. The other two were on 'A' Rigs.

Racing started on time and what great fun we had, it would blow and the 'B's would perform, then it would quieten off and the 'A's were out front. The wind was cool and right in our face and early on we had a wee bit of sun. A bit later on the rain decided to come in a squall so we retired to the shelter of, yes you guessed it, The Bus Stop. We did a couple of races from there in relative comfort. The rain stopped and we went back to the boardwalk and raced on. Then the forecast change came in with constant light rain, but good wind, so back to The Bus Stop. I have included a few pictures to explain The Bus Stop for those who are wondering what I'm referring to.

Pat 39 cleaned up on the RTW's today and then it was off home for a cuppa and a lie down.

Enjoy the photos
