Grey and cool at The Bus Stop, but a record crowd.
A record crowd turned out to have an afternoon of fun sailing - 20 boats on the start was a great scene. Nigel 168 had a course on the board when I arrived, but immediately called a course change. A hint of confusion ran round the crowd, but once they saw the course had been gated a hush came over the group.
Racing started and the first couple of races were bedlam with boats going in all directions. That settled and some serious racing started.
The wind didn't play ball, starting nice out of the North swinging toward west, then it gradually lightened until late in the and on the RTW it was almost zero. However, that did not deter the tenacious Nigel 168 from sailing brilliantly to get the win by a good margin.
Everyone was a winner today by just being there and enjoying some racing with good social banter going on, on the sidelines.
