ANZAC Day at The Bus Stop part 2.

A glitch in my photos caused me to miss an important achievement of one of our skippers today. He will remember it because it was ANZAC Day.

Ross 163 has been sailing with us for some time now. He had never sailed any sort of boat before taking up DF65 sailing. He has shown us at times that he can put in a good performance, but somehow there has always been something that causes him to just fall short when a win was in sight.

Today that changed and in the final race of the day Ross163 sailed brilliantly to win by a substantial margin. A top performance Ross congratulations from us all.

ANZAC Day at The Bus Stop Part 1.

After the various Dawn Services were over, it was off to the lake to see if anyone would come for a sail. There must have been a thought going round the city, because nine skippers had the same thought as I did, go sailing.

All the ingredients were there for a quiet afternoon of fun sailing, except the breeze forgot to show up. Never mind, Nigel 168 set a course, the start button was pressed, and away we went in a very light NW'er.

Pat 39 had a deft touch today and sailed brilliantly to win a lot of races, well done Pat. The rest of us had a mixed bag trying to get in phase with the light puffs landing on the water. At times we had 180-degree shifts, so it was a mind on the job day at its best.

The cool temperature took its toll in the end, and we packed it in about 3:30 without sailing a RTW.

Enjoy the photos!
