Another big fleet at The Bus Stop.
The forecast was for SW breeze, but it turned out to be NW?
Never mind, that didn't stop a fleet of 15 turning up for racing. It was sunny and cool on the bank.
Clive 998 posted a course that was testing at times, especially at the top mark where a giant hole often waited to gobble us up. The start line was a bit biased and that made it very tricky at the boat end. Skippers liked starting at that end causing things to be cramped resulting in too many collisions. (Yachtie talk! - BARGING!) Here's a question, how do we stop it? Give that some thought so that we do a lot better on Thursday.
Oh, while I'm on the subject of unfair sailing, today we had collisions, but not many penalty turns. Remember when two boats collide, the result should be one of them doing a penalty turn. It's not good to agree between each other that it was ok, and carry on racing as though nothing had happened. Let's do better at this also.
Enough of that, one or two other things happened today. Good racing, plenty of winners, fun, and plenty of patter on the shore. I did see one thing that lowered our standards, Adrian 136 was seen kicking his boat and a couple of nearby ducks didn't like it. Graeme 230 was seen saying a prayer to his boat prior to the last RTW. By golly, it worked because he sailed a cracking race to win, well done God! Nigel 168 and Bob 909 took the other two races.
Another good day on the water.
Enjoy the photos.
Pete 179 & 197 today.
