Who would miss a day on the water like today? Ten DF65 sailors made the start line at Tauriko. A really nice breeze today that settled in the north west and was reasonably even.
Today we enjoyed having Graham Roberts sailing his backup boat 184 with us. Great to see skippers trying to obey the rules and doing turns when fouling. There were a couple of punchups, but they were sorted out on the whiteboard which is a new device available to racers at Tauriko.
Rescue 1 had a couple of incidents to attend to, one being inattention and one a gear failure. Rescue 1 is a fantastic machine and comes out of nowhere to help sailors needing rescue assistance - thank you Nigel.
Graham showed good form consistently in front or near abouts. He didn't have it all his own way with a number of skippers making podium finishes. We haven't worked out what Mike has done to his new Dragon, but he was right in there in a few races and finished with a couple of podiums - well done Mike. Ian 188 also worth a mention with a couple of wins.
See you all on Thursday.
