Cool and grey today was no deterrent today at The Bus Stop

Twelve boats hit the track in a screwed up NW moderate breeze today. The knocks, lifts and holes were everywhere and that made very interesting racing. The one thing that was noticeable was the number of times skippers were caught and rounded up then trying to steer their boat back on track. Learn to drop your sails super quickly when this happens and stay off the tiller. Try steering out of it in a dinghy and you will swim a lot. The same applies to our little boats. Use your sails to steer. Watching skippers manage the weather was a treat. However, we all had to deal with it and deal with it we did.   The conditions were a leveller when it came to wins. Lots of sailors picked their way through the maze to gain wins, some of which were by substantial margins. All in all an exciting day on the water.

Our RO for the day, Rob 501, and his trusted associate Clive 997 set an interesting course and about an hour into racing RO Rob & Co called a holt and made a substantial course change which was an improvement on the earlier effort. Well done team for recognising a change was needed. Let's see someone else have a go on Thursday.

REMINDER: Please go to the TRSC Website and at the top you will see a link that takes you to a form for registration with the Club. ASAP please fill out and submit your registration. We will be checking on Thursday. Papamoa and Matata skippers, please follow suit. REMEMBER Adrian Thrupp Memorial Day on November 9th at The Bus Stop.

I forgot my camera todaysorry, but took a couple of shots on my phone.

See you Thursday 1pm at Bus Stop
