TRSC Monday 30th Jan DF65 Tauranga Lakes 1pm Session - Danger - Tauranga Lake is Flooded - Ground wet and extremely slippery - Buoys washed down the lake - Risks are very different to normal, we are very concerned about someone slipping or falling into the lake.

If you sail on 1pm DF65 Monday 30th at the Tauranga Lakes, you will need to take extra care due to the change from our normal sailing conditions.  You will need to follow all instructions of the Race Office of the day, Graham Roberts.

It will be your personal decision to sail, and you will need to look after your personal safety in these extreme conditions.

At 12 o'clock Graham will see if the lake has dropped enough that we can even get to the dinghy.

and then try to recover some marks which have been washed down the lake (if safe to do so, weather and conditions permitting)

If we can set up a safe staging area sailing will start after 1pm

Once the safe control areas is set up, NOT BEFORE! RO will instruct sailing can start.

We want a rescue plan and gear set up before people walk into the lake and could get into trouble.

Graham NZ104 will be Race Officer and will be in control of staging areas we are standing and launching.

AT 1pm or thereafter we may need to cancel the session

if we feel we cannot meet above and control the risks

Or if someone is being silly....

Hopefully we can still have a safe and fun session this long weekend Monday in these very different conditions - There is plenty of water to sail on ....
