Top conditions today in warm sun at The Bus Stop.

A big crowd showed up to race today. 14 boats faced a gated course set by Nigel 168. The wind was SW and up a bit, so there was plenty of pace and races were over in a flash. Outstanding sailing today from Rob 501, he had the Dragon breathing fire and I saw a lot of wins go his way. Well done Rob. The rest of us picked up the scraps.

At the other end of the scale, I took my 197 out again and got into bit trouble. I lost control and it sailed to the North side of the lake, hit the bank, spun around and took off to the south shore with Nigel and Rescue 1 chasing it. Before he could get near it, it spun around and headed off to the jetty where it stayed and waited for rescue. Thank you Nigel 168 for your help with the recovery. 197 is now up on the slipway for analysis and repair, I have no idea what is wrong with it, but I will sort it out.

That aside, racing continued and there was a lot of enjoyment on the bank today. Merv 188 had third and was stoked, Harry 555 was going well and mainly staying out of trouble, John 235 had a mixed day and was a bit grumpy with himself.

The conditions today did cause a few upsets, big shifts, a big hole moved about in the middle of the beat and No4 had its moments. So, all in all, to sail a good race was not that straight forward, so don't beat yourselves up too much and blame the boat. Come and have another go on Thursday, you will probably do much better.
