Thursday saw eleven skippers ready to race on the lake. Nine 'A' rigs and Cliff and Garry on 'A+' to do some testing.

Pete had his new boat out to test it against the team, the boat was fine, but the skipper was a bit ragged.

We had a nice Northerly that stayed fairly constant all afternoon.

Some good coaching was going on between skippers to help those slower units.

I also heard a fair bit of sledging going on as well.

Graeme called port on me once and I didn't know what to do?

You can see from the photos that Nigel set an interesting course which if you look you will see that the buoys that are to be observed had a circle around them.

One unnamed skipper lost a race observing a mark with no circle.

There was considerable discussion around that mistake.

Cliff commented that for him his trials indicated that in the wind speed we had,

there was very little difference in the performance of the two different rigs - interesting.

All in all a great afternoon on the water, thanks for coming.

Not on the Dragon Boat.
