In the back sheds in Tauranga, half a dozen secrete society members tinker away trying to make their multi hulls fly. Those Americas cup guys make is look soo easy....
Today was my relaunch day of Trevor Lanes old Tri. Its been awhile since i had her out and I have fitted new universal center cases and fitted some foiling fins into her.
With a airplane motor fitted today I was hoping she might just fly? but no, not enough horse power ...
If I gave her a hard push off, from the shore she would fly on a five meter parabolic
lift off
level for one second
before slowing then bow dropping down
and a smooth touch down and slow right down as she hit the surface.
(Very happy to getting off the surface on my 1st attempt, and shows promise)
So back to drawing board / workshop to find more thrust and fit an adjustable rudder rake system before attempt two down the track ... Stay safe every one...
