A springtime Sou'wester on the lake today at The Bus Stop.
Twelve boats came out to play today on a nice warm spring day. The breeze was right in our face and the lake had a rolling chop. Pete 179 put a course up and we went at it.
Ian 146 rocketed out of the blocks to take the first race, then he went into remission. Lester 17 then took over for a few races then he went home and Pat 39 then stepped up. In between others knocked out wins. The conditions were wonderful.
It was great to have Pete 448 grunting his way around the course murmuring starboard and buoy room etc. Papamoa Pond rep Craig 987 showed great form and mentioned to me that he particularly enjoyed sailing in a chop. I heard a big cheer go up when he won a race which was a mighty fine effort on the day. We'll see him back for sure.
I did catch a glimpse of Merv 188 administering open heart surgery on his boat. It survived to race again with vigor.
Pete 179's boat went rogue while he was taking some photos and it was rescued by the skipper of Rescue 1. (See photo)
