Everyone had a ball, at The Bus Stop
A nice SW greeted the eleven skippers who turned out for the afternoon sailing. The light breeze lifted slowly through the afternoon to finish up really good.
Nigel 168 sorted out a course with a gate top and bottom consisting of three laps. We had three starters on 30 seconds handicap today, Trev 22, John 235 and Sarah from New Plymouth chartering 179. It has been noticed that those handicappers have been quietly improving there sailing skills, and I heard murmurs down in the front row that a reduction in handicap looks likely. They all manage a win today, well done.
The lake chop was a big factor today. When the lull came in the breeze it was not uncommon to see eleven boats bobbing up and down going nowhere. The bounce back off the duckboards really gave us grieve at the bottom of the course. All good fun and some really tight racing resulted today.
Three RTW's, Peter 253 (again),Garry 54, and a skirmish on the finish line saw a dead heat between John 235 and Sarah 179
