2024 AGM Minutes

Financial Report (Justin B)
Balance as of 3rd February 2024: $5,026.65
Balance as of 7th February 2025: $3,694.16
Less N.A. Dinghy Rubber Expense: -$61.80
Final Adjusted Balance: $3,632.36
Loss of $1,394.29 due to 2024 club fees set at $0 per person, NZRYA fees of $25 plus $10 per member, and other expenses. (GR, OP)
Election of Officers
Commodore:
Justin B nominated Graham R
Graham R nominated Pat H, who declined
No other nominations, so Graham R remains in a caretaker role until a new candidate steps up (JB, PH – Passed)
Vice Commodore:
Pat Halloran (GR, OP – Passed)
Secretary/Treasurer:
Justin B stepped down (Huge thanks for his years of dedication!)
No other volunteers, but Pat H stepped up to take on the role (GR, JB – Passed)
Important Reminder: To make Pat’s job easier, please pay your subs on time in September!
Boat Master:
Thanks to Nigel A and Ken F for maintaining club equipment over the years!
Webmaster:
No volunteers, so Graham R remains as caretaker webmaster (JB nominated, all passed)
IOM Measurers:
Graham R & Ken F remain measurers
A third measurer is needed so Graham and Ken don’t have to travel to Auckland for their Frank IOMs
Justin B volunteered as the third measurer
Graham R to submit a request to Ian Vickers for approval (OP, PH – Passed)

Club Fees Discussion
A long discussion was held regarding the 2024/2025 club fee losses and determining the 2025/2026 club fees.
Voting options:
$25: 11 votes
$15: 7 votes
$0: 0 votes
Final Decision: TRSC fees set at $25 for the 2025/2026 season (PF, PH – Passed, JB objected)
Important Reminder:
Club members must complete the online Jotform in September 2025 to renew their membership for 1st October 2025 – 30th September 2026.

Bank Signatories
Pat H (new Secretary/Treasurer) to be added as the fourth Kiwibank signatory. (currently Owen P, Justin B & John B)
PL & JB explained the Kiwibank process for account setup and AGM documentation.
Working Bee

Ken F has contacted the council regarding rotten jetty planks.
Equipment & Facilities
Opotiki Buoys: Available for anyone interested (Stored in Peter F’s bedroom in Matata)
Electronic Buoy Bot Project:
Still a work in progress, may not be practical for major events due to potential movement issues.
Commercial Buoy Bots cost thousands of dollars, plus require charging, maintenance, and transport.
For now: TRSC will continue using static stay anchors.
Dinghy Repairs & Storage
Thanks to Nigel, Ken, and Bursco for fixing the dinghy’s side fender rubber.
Thanks to GD for letting us store Dinghy at his place by the lake
Ongoing discussion on storage, leases, containers, council and vandalism.
DF65 Easter Nationals Update (JB/GR)
Issue: Delay in the Notice of Race due to questions about umpire requirements and entry fees.
Dinner on Saturday Night (Easter Weekend):
Open to club members, family, and friends.
Pre-booking required!

Promoting Friday Social Sailing in Matamata (PF)
Sailing groups in Waihi, Katikati, Papamoa, and Matamata are social gatherings, not official TRSC or NZRYA events.
Accidents: Covered by ACC
Incidents: Handled directly between the parties involved
