11th - Day Five of road trip, it will be Day two of racing here in Nelson. Great racing yesterday. Timing is everything in sailing, and the weather bomb may have slowed just enough we might get today just finished just as it hits. Both weather maps show a good chance for ok weather today and i may even be mid A rig all day by the looks. Fingers crossed. Basil started most of his races really well yesterday. I am currently 5 points behind Basil counting the next drop so it will be a tough day in the office today to catch him but will give it a good crack :)

Windfinder show no more than 12 knots today

What do i know. Solid B rig all day !

Racing got underway just after 11am and was done by 12.30. Everyone off to watch the All Blacks game and beat the weather...

A pin bias line today, with only 9 boats on the start line today Plenty of room for everyone to hit the line at speed. Starboard tack to shore , call for water and just about lay the top mark on port. A very tight starboard tack to the spreader, before the perfect split downwind run to the bottom gate. Left or right? (zero nose dives today) One more lap and then to a very close upwind finish with a slight boat bias.

Range mostly mid B with a few lighter races but still enough to stay powered up. Good tight racing with plenty of passing lanes and all the top boats on top of each other.

Thanks to the Nelson team for putting on this event. https://radioyachtingnelson.com/

Day Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Heading south for some Tramping and Mountain Biking so catch you all later in the week somewhere... Happy Sailing
