It was a nice warm Autumn day at the Lakes for those 10 sailors who launched their yachts. It was difficult for the R.O to set a fair course due to the variable wind during the day. By moving a couple of marks we were able to set a start line close to the launching jetty and sail off across the lake in a S E direction to the first mark, then a light reach to the second mark on the West side of the lake, on to the bridge mark, then the south mark and finish with a down wind leg back through the start line. Initially the race was one lap but soon changed to a two lap affair for the rest of the day apart from a Bridge to Bus

Stop final race just before 4.00pm.. At one stage a cluster of 'Brit Pops' seamed to dominate the races but those with other hull designs were able to also show the quickest way home. The R.O. was pleased to see how well first time model yacht sailor Bruce was able to sail No. 77, a yacht that has not been seen at 'The Lakes' for a while perform for its new sailor. While it was challenging and sometimes frustrating for the sailors due to the variable wind conditions all seamed to enjoy the days sailing. Thanks also to those who helped the R.O but away the equipment at the days end.
