8th January 2025 Fun Wednesday IOM Sailing Report
Another great afternoon of sailing at the Lakes! The atmosphere was relaxed, with everyone enjoying some good-natured competition and friendly banter. As always, the camaraderie on and off the water made it a memorable day.
The racing was as close as ever, with mixed results for all sailors throughout the session. Shifty winds and tactical opportunities kept everyone on their toes, with each race offering a chance for different skippers to shine.
The long race was a highlight of the day, though I must admit I had a bit of a hiccup at the start. Mixing up my timing left me trailing the fleet from the get-go. Despite my best efforts to close the gap, the lead pack proved just out of reach. That’s the nature of sailing—sometimes you win, sometimes you learn.
Congratulations to everyone who participated and made the day so enjoyable. While I’m not sure who ultimately claimed the long race victory, it was great to see such spirited competition out on the water.
Looking forward to more fun and challenging racing in the weeks ahead.
Cheers, Ken
