Tauranga Radio Sailing Club Report - Yesterday's Sailing Adventure

Yesterday began with clear blue skies, setting an optimistic tone for the day. After a morning of programming my AI buoy bot with ChatGPT, I headed to Greerton pool for a refreshing swim. Following a quick stop at PB Tech for some tech supplies and a haircut next door, I returned home just as the rain began.

By 2 PM, despite the drizzle, I decided to venture to the Tauranga Radio Sailing Club (TRSC), not expecting much activity. To my surprise, three cars were parked and four dedicated sailors were on the jetty, maneuvering their RC IOM yachts through the water.

Initially, I watched a start and was quickly inspired to retrieve my yacht from the car. The weather improved slightly for the rest of the afternoon, providing us with good, tight racing conditions. The wind kept our boats leaning over, making for some thrilling and competitive races.

As the day progressed, we enjoyed the camaraderie and the spirited competition that defines our sailing community. Despite the challenging conditions, the racing was fun and engaging, and everyone packed up feeling satisfied.

We also took a moment to send our best wishes to Thrupy and Owen, who are currently in the hospital, hoping for their swift recovery.

Returning home, I spent the evening further experimenting with my AI-powered buoy bot, inspired by the day's events. It was a perfect blend of technology and sailing, making for a memorable day despite the rain.

Here's to more days filled with the joy of sailing and the excitement of technological innovation!
