Hi Team. Day One of my four day road trip just about over

i have made my nest at the Wellington Kiwi motor camp in upper hut, Wellington in my little van.

Its been a while since my last Van roadie and curtains seem to have shrunk with lack of use. My bed is made and I am ready for some ZZZZZ

Hope the TRSC agm was a success last night, sorry i could not make it .... Hope we have some great events planned for 2022...

My original plan was to hit the road straight after work Thursday night and get some of the way down.

I was a bit tired once home, so crashed out and set the alarm for 4am today.

This morning I did a bit of a tickie tour down the West side of the country seeing some roads I don't normally travel on when rushing up and down., Plus a few unplanned country roads too. The Fog lifted 9am and clear trip for the 2nd half of the journey. The mountains looked great today. Allot of extra distance by only about an hour extra.

12.30 I rolled in for Kapiti for the DF65 1pm Friday sailing.

What a turnout. 16 boats racing :) Very top of A plus gusts and very close finishes.. A Great afternoon session. And these boys just keep getting faster..

Wellington IOM Murray Rountree Regatta.

Kapit'si Graeme Perry Report

"Hi All,

An enjoyable day of racing for some, but pushing the A+ to the very top of the wind range got the better of a few boats today - still more fun than mowing the lawns though.

Great to have Graham Roberts from the Tauranga club join us for an afternoon of sailing. Graham pulled off a couple of wins in races 2 and 3, but none of us could get the better of Mike Calkoen with his five wins from seven starts - a great performance in gusty and shifty conditions. Results are up on the club website.

Upcoming we have:

  • Saturday/Sunday - a few of us are off to try our hand at One Metre sailing in the Wellington Club’s Murray Rountree regatta. No idea how this could turn out, but wish us luck.

  • Sunday at Winstones - DF65 Winstones Spring Series Day 5. NW to W winds forecast at 5 - 6 kts. All comfortably within the A+ range

  • Wednesday at Awatea - DF95 scratch racing

cheers

Graeme "
