Labour Day fun regatta at The Bus Stop.
The day looked a bit murky with light rain falling as we arrived at The Bus Stop for an afternoon of fun racing. Up went the Gazebos by willing hands, RO Nigel 168 set a gated course on the new large race board, a quick briefing and we were racing. Twelve boats on the start line made for an excellent competition.
The forecast was NW, however, it turned up as SSE and light with some sneaky holes thrown in. The competition was hot. The idea of fun racing took a back seat until the fleet settled into a rhythm. The skippers were well behaved, doing penalty turns as necessary. Late in the day a westerly wind shift with increased strength meant a course change was in order.
After two hours and 13 races, the fleet finished with an RTW while Pete 179 sorted out the results. Here is the Prize list:
1st = Adrian 136
2nd = Graham 104
3rd =Â Cliff 115
Age winners:
Over 80 = Ross 163
Over 70 = Adrian 136
Over 60 = Ian Valder 146
1st RTW = Graham 104
Results attached.
Congratulations to the whole fleet, you all sailed brilliantly.
Thanks for being our RO for the day, Nigel 168 And thanks everyone for coming.
