Another week closer to the IOM National and unfortunately the rain is back for this week.

Saturday was an IOM washout and no montly points day.

And early today I had to make the hard call of calling off the Kings DF65 points day Monday.  One day we will see the sun again !

However plenty of weekend action  in Ken Mancave.

Saturday, we glued up our 1st molded rudder blade.  Came out absolutely awesome for a home build.  It's now tacked in the boat ready for a brace and shaft to be glued in permanently.    Weight well in acceptable limits.  Not bad for our 1st attempt :)

The IOM measurement papers arrived for Frank IV, thanks Chris

and we have couple of Auckland measurers booked in, in the near future please, thanks Bob and Trevor...

Ken's being very inventive and modified the 3d printer cup and added a bulkhead with some brown tape and wood, making a nice fiberglass molded piece.

He is always scheming :) Looks awesome.

The 3d printer has finished the centerboard molds and now is hard at work on rudder blade design MK ii.

I have plenty of filling, sanding, polishing and waxing for me over the next week getting them ready for layup.

The 1st half of the concrete bulb mold popped out in one piece this time.

Now just need to find time to lay up the 2nd of the molds and let it cure for a couple of weeks too in the hot water cupboard.

This afternoon myself and Ken negotiated on where all the deck gear and bracing would go.

Ken is going to add strengthen points in areas that will need to be beefed up.  Plenty of glassing and gluing for Ken for the next few days.

Better get some sleep. I need to be fresh for a training course tomorrow morning.

Have a great one, regardless of the weather.

Have fun, Graham NZL22
