DF65's at The Bus Stop

Eleven keen skippers on the boardwalk today.

A nice day for sailing, not too cold, and a light westerly that was reasonably steady.

Nice to see John 6 come over from Rotorua and Peter 448 from Matata.

Unfortunately 448 had a breakdown so Peter 448 put in a couple of blistering races on 179 then went home a satisfied man.

Nigel 168 set a gated course that was regularly splitting the fleet at the top marks.

This helped considerably with the congestion that is normally a feature with good fleet numbers.

At about 3:00, with a reduced fleet, the call was made to run the last half hour as Round the World races.

This went down well with the remaining skippers.

Lots of happy winners today with extremely close finishes being a feature of many of the races today.

Another wonderful day racing on the lake - thanks for coming guys - we'll see you on Thursday for the next thrilling instalment.

I'm back!
