The forecast today was for strong wind at The Bus Stop
Twelve keen skippers today plus one new one and a couple of visitors.
Welcome to Francois with his new boat 137, we will look after you until you prange into us, enjoy your new hobby of DF65 racing. Also we welcomed Mike and his Dad, John for an afternoon of fun trying out DF65 sailing. Mike had a few races, he told me he did at least one penalty turn in every race, but enjoyed it immensely.
On a more sombre note, we had two of our skippers slip and fall while moving to launch their boats. We all need to take that as a very stern warning, take a lot of care down near the boardwalk. The flags ARE THERE AS A WARNING. Fortunately nobody was hurt and no broken bones ensued.
The breeze was generally SW and moderate with a few heavy gusts, top end of A Rig. Great for fun racing. Rob 501 had some problems with his boat so he chartered 197 and after taking the twitchiness out of it and a bit of retuning to suit his style, he had some wins. Nice to see Garry 54 out racing and winning races in his customary fashion.
Three RTW's today with Garry 54 taking two wins and the other going to John 201, well done guys.
Enjoy the photos
Pete, not sailing today.
