DF65's scorched around the buoys at The Jetty.

Nigel 168 and I had a chat and decided to go to The Jetty for some sailing in what looked like heavy weather. I went to The Bus Stop to direct any sailors to The Jetty. Two others showed up so off we went to have a blast on The Champs water. When we arrived Bob 58 from Auckland was there itching and to hit the water. He was A+ along with Nigel 168 also A+. Kent 717 and Rob 501 on A's with Pat 39 and Pete 197 on B's. A good selection of rigs sailing in the same heavy weather gave a good indication of just how each performed.

In a nutshell, A+ struggles in the heavy gusts, A were ok most of the time, B were ok all of the time. Who won the most races, B's hands down.

We had a ball, squalls, flat spots, holes, huge shifts and a solid chop. We had excellent racing over a good course. Good company with plenty of humour and no major incidents. If the conditions for the Champs are no worse than what we had, it will be a great series.

Some real rough video on Facebook.

Enjoy
