Quickfire racing at The Bus Stop.

Twelve boats on the water today along with twelve keen skippers. Why were they so keen? Because the wind was up and from the best quarter possible, right down the lake, and with a good chop. Those were the conditions to light anyone up.

Nigel 168 set a gate top and bottom and it was square on into the wind so port starters could have a go if they thought their luck was in, and some did. Generally the starts were orderly, but a wee bit of barging was evident occasionally.

Races were rattled off in quick succession so there wasn't much time to fiddle about with settings. The idea was to sail a good race and not get tied up in boat performance, ie, if it's going ok don't fiddle with it, just sail.

Great fun was had by twelve elderly blokes today.

RTW's were a bit disappointing today, all three were won by 179. It's worth mentioning that last Thursday there was no report, but Rob 501 was first in one of the RTW's.
