Was it Winter, no it was Spring I think, at The Bus Stop?
A small fleet of six today, but my goodness they were keen racers. Nigel 168 set a good course to take advantage of the light NW wind and we were into some solid racing that required a lot of concentration.
There was a nasty flat spot right in the middle of the course that moved left and right that often had the effect of nullifying a good start. Being out front meant you hit the wall first and often were left wallowing in the wake of other boats.
Tim 144 kindly lent his boat to a new interested skipper and chartered 179 for a few races. He found it very interesting sailing another skipper's boat and said it's something we should do more of. I have an idea to put to the team sometime.
No one skipper stood out today meaning there were a lot of winners. As the afternoon drifted on, so did the wind. We had a very slow own choice final RTW that turned into a very long race with a nail biting finish that was won by Rob 501 from Pete 179 sailing in the opposite direction, nice picking Robert.
The other two RTW's were won by Pat 39 and Pete 179.
