DF65's at The Bus Stop

A day of survival for the 10 skippers who turned out to race today in freezing conditions.

Gusts were recorded at 16 plus knots and right in your face from SW. It was great seeing skippers hold their nerve on the downhill legs.  That was the leg that proved to be the most challenging point of sailing, hanging on for dear life at times with boats scurrying off in all directions not quite under control.

Hopefully everyone enjoyed the very cold afternoon and the experience that went with it, because at the end of the day we were all winners.

Footnote : I braved the elements and ventured into the Lake with a pitch fork to open up a bigger channel where we launch our boats. It has been quite shallow at times and with Summer on its way  thought I would get ahead of the programme.

Sailors' note:

Thanks for that Nigel and for the repositioning of the finish line Club flag.

Cheers Nigel 168
