Sailing Report: Saturday, 4th January 2025
The strong southwesterlies just keep coming, and yesterday was no exception. Gusts occasionally tipped into C rig territory, only to ease back to A rig conditions. Common sense prevailed, and most of us opted for B rigs, which proved challenging enough in the conditions.
We were delighted to welcome Ian as a new member to the one-metre fleet. Ian has brought Graham’s Frank 5 NZL42 and sailed beautifully, showing great promise at the front of the fleet and fitting right in with the group. Welcome !
The highlight of the day was the long race, which ended in an exciting close finish. Graham R claimed victory with his trusty Woodie Corbie 6, but not without the rest of the fleet breathing down his neck as we crossed the finish line.
A fantastic day on the water despite the challenging winds. Looking forward to seeing everyone out there again soon!
Cheers,
Ken
