Full Recipe:
12 oz salmon, cut into 2–3 fillet strips
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
1 pinch cayenne pepper
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon warm water
1½ teaspoons apple cider vinegar (or lemon juice)
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
½ lemon, sliced into wedges
1 tablespoon chopped parsley, for garnish
Season the Salmon
Season the salmon fillets all over with salt, black pepper, and a pinch of cayenne pepper. Set aside.
Mix the Glaze
In a small bowl, stir together the honey, warm water, apple cider vinegar (or lemon juice), and a pinch of salt until well combined.
Sear the Salmon
Heat an oven-safe skillet (preferably cast iron) over high heat. Add the olive oil. Place the salmon skin-side down and cook for about 1 minute. Flip, cook for another 1 minute, then flip again so the skin side is down once more.
Add Garlic & Glaze
Toss the minced garlic into the skillet and sauté until slightly browned. Pour in the honey glaze and add the lemon wedges. Let the sauce simmer and reduce until it turns sticky and glossy.
Optional Broil
If you like a little char, you can finish the salmon under a high broiler (around 500°F / 260°C) for about 1 minute just until lightly charred on top.
Garnish & Serve
Sprinkle the chopped parsley on top and serve immediately.
