Full Recipe:
200g shrimp, peeled
200g scallops
2 tablespoons butter
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
200ml heavy cream
50ml white grape juice
50g grated cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Prepare the Seafood: If using frozen shrimp and scallops, ensure they are fully thawed. Rinse under cold water and pat dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Peel the shrimp and chop the scallops into bite-sized pieces.
Cook the Aromatics: In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing for about 3-4 minutes until the onion becomes translucent and fragrant.
Cook the Seafood: Add the shrimp and scallops to the skillet. Cook for about 3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the shrimp turn pink and the scallops become opaque.
Add Liquids and Seasoning: Pour in the white grape juice and let it simmer for about 2 minutes to enhance the flavors. Then, stir in the heavy cream, salt, and black pepper, mixing well to combine. Allow the mixture to simmer for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
Assemble the Gratin: Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Transfer the seafood mixture into a baking dish, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle the grated cheese over the top.
Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden brown.
Serve: Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your delicious seafood gratin with a side of fresh bread or a light salad.
