¼ cup ketchup, plus more for glazing
2 tablespoons mustard
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
½ cup finely chopped onion
2 large eggs, beaten
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a loaf pan with parchment paper.
Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, onion, eggs, salt, and pepper.
First Layer: Press half of the meat mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan, creating an even layer.
Add Filling: Evenly sprinkle the shredded cheese and crumbled bacon over the meat layer.
Complete Assembly: Top with the remaining meat mixture, sealing the edges to keep the cheese from leaking.
Glaze and Bake: Brush the top with additional ketchup and bake for 60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
Rest and Serve: Let the meatloaf rest in the pan for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
