Full Recipe:
1 pound extra large shrimp, peeled and deveined
¼ cup minced fresh garlic (approximately 1 medium head)
1 tablespoon all purpose flour
1½ teaspoons paprika
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
6 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon minced fresh parsley
White rice, for serving
Prepare the Shrimp: Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
Season the Shrimp: In a bowl, combine the flour, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Toss the shrimp in this mixture until evenly coated.
Cook the Shrimp: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and 3 tablespoons of butter over medium heat until melted. Add the shrimp in a single layer and cook until pink on the bottom, about 2 minutes. Flip the shrimp and cook the other side until just cooked through, about 2 minutes more.
Add Garlic: Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Finish the Dish: Remove the skillet from heat. Stir in the remaining 3 tablespoons of butter, lemon juice, and parsley.
Serve: Serve the shrimp immediately over white rice, spooning the garlic butter sauce over the top.
