Full Recipe:
1 lb breakfast sausage (uncooked)
2 cups freshly grated sharp cheddar cheese
2 cups Bisquick baking mix
4 oz cream cheese, softened
2 large eggs
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
½ tsp black pepper
Optional flavor boosters:
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp hot sauce
2 tbsp fresh chives, finely chopped
½ tsp paprika
Prep Ingredients
Bring the cream cheese to room temperature. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper. Grate the cheddar cheese if using a block.
Combine Sausage and Cream Cheese
In a large mixing bowl, combine the uncooked breakfast sausage and softened cream cheese. Mix until well blended.
Add Cheese and Seasonings
Gradually add the grated cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper to the sausage mixture. Mix until evenly incorporated.
Incorporate Bisquick and Eggs
Gently fold in the Bisquick baking mix and eggs. Be careful not to overmix; just combine until the dough comes together. Let the mixture rest for 10 minutes.
Shape the Balls
Using your hands or a cookie scoop, roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheets.
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 18–22 minutes, or until the sausage balls are golden brown and cooked through.
