Baked Cream Cheese Chicken is a comforting and flavorful dish that combines tender chicken breasts with a creamy garlic cream cheese sauce. This easy-to-make recipe is perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions, offering a rich and satisfying meal that pairs well with a variety of sides.
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 clove garlic, minced
½ cup chicken broth
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped
1 teaspoon paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
½ cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese (optional, for topping)
Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or olive oil.
Season the Chicken: Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and paprika.
Sear the Chicken: In a skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil. Add the chicken breasts and sear for 2–3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
Prepare the Sauce: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant. Stir in the chicken broth and cook for 1–2 minutes to reduce slightly. Add the softened cream cheese and stir until smooth. Mix in the chopped chives and season with salt and pepper.
Assemble the Dish: Place the seared chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the chicken. If desired, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). If using cheese, broil for the last 2–3 minutes to brown the topping.
Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and let rest for a couple of minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve warm with your favorite side dishes.
