This hearty, one-pan pasta dish combines savory ground beef, tender pasta, and a rich, creamy sauce, making it a perfect comfort food for busy weeknights. The simplicity of the ingredients and the ease of preparation make it a family favorite that's both satisfying and quick to prepare.
1 lb (450g) ground beef
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 cups (480ml) beef broth
1 (14.5 oz or 410g) can diced tomatoes, drained
2 cups (160g) uncooked pasta (penne, rotini, or elbow macaroni)
1/2 cup (120ml) heavy cream
1/2 cup (50g) grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup (15g) fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Cook the Ground Beef: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain excess fat if necessary.
Sauté Aromatics: Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the onion is translucent and the garlic is fragrant.
Add Seasonings and Liquids: Stir in the Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Pour in the beef broth and add the diced tomatoes. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
Cook the Pasta: Add the uncooked pasta to the skillet, ensuring it's submerged in the liquid. Cover and cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
Finish the Sauce: Reduce the heat to low. Stir in the heavy cream and grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
Serve: Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired. Serve hot and enjoy!
