Soup Dumplings in Creamy Gochujang Sauce
This dish offers a delightful fusion of Chinese and Korean cuisines, combining the savory, juicy goodness of Chinese soup dumplings with the bold, spicy flavors of Korean gochujang. Topped with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and garnished with herbs, this comforting dish is perfect for a cozy dinner. Ready in just 20 minutes, it brings together the best of both culinary worlds in a single, satisfying bite.
Ingredients:
8–10 frozen soup dumplings
1 tbsp unsalted butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp gochujang (Korean red chili paste)
1 cup heavy cream
½ cup water
Salt, to taste
Pepper, to taste
Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
Chopped chives or sage, for garnish (optional)
Directions:
Prepare the Sauce: In a pot, melt the butter over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
Combine Ingredients: Add the heavy cream, water, and gochujang to the pot. Stir until well combined and bring the mixture to a simmer.
Cook the Dumplings: Carefully add the frozen soup dumplings to the sauce, ensuring they are spaced apart. Cover the pot with a lid and cook for about 12 minutes, or until the dumplings are cooked through.
Finish and Serve: Remove the lid and turn off the heat. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Transfer the dumplings to serving plates, spooning the creamy sauce over them. Sprinkle with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and garnish with chopped chives or sage, if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!
