Country Fried Pork Chops with Bacon Gravy
Country Fried Pork Chops with Bacon Gravy is a classic Southern comfort dish featuring crispy, breaded pork chops smothered in a rich and savory bacon-infused gravy. The combination of tender pork and smoky, creamy gravy creates a satisfying meal perfect for family dinners or special occasions. This hearty recipe pairs wonderfully with mashed potatoes or biscuits.
Ingredients:
For the Pork Chops:
4 bone-in pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 large eggs
1/4 cup milk
Vegetable oil, for frying
For the Bacon Gravy:
4 slices bacon, chopped
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups milk
Salt and pepper, to taste
Directions:
In a shallow bowl, combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
In another bowl, whisk eggs and milk together.
Dip pork chops into the egg mixture, then dredge in the flour mixture, pressing to coat well.
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry pork chops until golden brown and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove and keep warm.
In the same skillet, cook chopped bacon until crisp. Remove bacon with a slotted spoon, leaving drippings in the pan.
Whisk flour into the bacon drippings and cook for 1-2 minutes to form a roux.
Gradually whisk in milk and cook until gravy thickens, about 3-5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
Stir cooked bacon back into the gravy.
Serve pork chops smothered with bacon gravy.
