12 oz linguine or spaghetti
1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
4 tablespoons butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Salt and pepper, to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Preheat Oven and Prepare Pasta:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cook the linguine or spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Cook Shrimp:
In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using), sautéing for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Add the shrimp to the skillet, cooking until they turn pink and opaque, approximately 2-3 minutes per side. Remove from heat.
Prepare Sauce:
In the same skillet, add the heavy cream, stirring to combine with the remaining butter and garlic.
Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce heat and stir in the Parmesan cheese until the sauce thickens slightly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Combine Pasta, Shrimp, and Sauce:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, shrimp, and sauce, tossing to coat evenly.
Assemble and Bake:
Transfer the pasta mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the top is lightly golden.
Garnish and Serve:
Remove from the oven and let it sit for a few minutes before serving.
Garnish with chopped fresh parsley for a burst of color and freshness.
