Salt and Pepper Pork Chops
Salt and Pepper Pork Chops are a simple yet flavorful dish that highlights the natural taste of pork enhanced by a crispy, seasoned crust. This recipe uses just a few basic ingredients—salt, pepper, and a touch of cornstarch—to create a perfectly crispy exterior while keeping the meat juicy and tender inside. Quick to prepare and packed with satisfying flavors, these pork chops are perfect for any weeknight dinner.
Ingredients:
4 bone-in pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon white pepper (optional)
1/4 cup cornstarch
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
3 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
2 green onions, chopped
Directions:
Pat pork chops dry with paper towels. Season both sides evenly with salt, black pepper, and white pepper if using.
Lightly coat each pork chop with cornstarch, shaking off excess.
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add garlic slices and cook until fragrant and golden, about 1-2 minutes. Remove garlic and set aside.
Add pork chops to the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature of 145°F / 63°C).
Remove pork chops from the skillet and let rest for a few minutes.
Serve pork chops topped with the crispy garlic and chopped green onions.
