Ina Garten’s Meatloaf is a classic comfort food made simple and delicious. This recipe uses quality ingredients like ground beef, onions, garlic, and a flavorful tomato-based glaze to create a moist, savory meatloaf with a perfect balance of tangy sweetness. Easy to prepare and perfect for family dinners, it pairs wonderfully with mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables.
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 large onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
3/4 cup plain breadcrumbs
1/2 cup whole milk
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
For the Glaze:
1/4 cup ketchup
1/4 cup chili sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onions and garlic and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, salt, pepper, and the cooled onion mixture. Mix gently until just combined.
Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a loaf pan or on a baking sheet.
In a small bowl, mix together ketchup, chili sauce, and brown sugar for the glaze. Spread evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
Bake for 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
