These guilt-free Crispy Bang Bang Salmon Bites deliver all the creamy, spicy-sweet punch you're craving—without deep frying. Bite-sized pieces of salmon are tossed with olive oil, cornstarch, and flavorful seasonings, then air-fried (or baked) to a crisp exterior and tender interior. Finished with a luscious Bang Bang sauce—a blend of creamy mayo, Thai sweet chili sauce, sriracha, and a touch of honey—each bite is a perfect balance of texture and indulgence. Quick to make, delicious to serve, and ideal over rice, in bowls, or on their own as appetizers.
Ingredients
For the salmon bites:
Bang Bang Sauce:
¼ cup mayonnaise
¼ cup plain Greek yogurt (optional lighter alternative)
3 tbsp Thai sweet chili sauce
1½ tsp sriracha (adjust to taste)
Optional: 1 tsp honey or lime juice for extra brightness (per Jo Cooks variation)
Directions
In a bowl, combine salmon cubes with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and cornstarch. Toss until pieces are evenly coated.
Air-Fryer Method: Preheat to 390–400 °F. Arrange salmon in a single layer (in batches if needed). Air-fry for 6–8 minutes, shaking halfway through until salmon is cooked and crisped.
Oven Method: Preheat to 400 °F. Place salmon on parchment-lined baking sheet and bake 8–10 minutes, until crisp and cooked through.
While salmon cooks, whisk together all Bang Bang sauce ingredients.
Once salmon bites are done, transfer to a serving dish and drizzle with sauce (or toss gently to coat). Serve with rice, pickled veggies, or as-is.
