Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef
1 cup uncooked orzo pasta
1 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for spice)
1/2 cup beef broth
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper, to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Directions:
In a large skillet, heat a little olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet, and sauté for another 2-3 minutes until softened.
Stir in the dried oregano, basil, and red pepper flakes, then season with salt and pepper.
Add the beef broth and bring to a simmer. Stir in the uncooked orzo pasta and cook for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the orzo is tender and the liquid is mostly absorbed.
Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream and grated Parmesan cheese. Continue stirring until the sauce is creamy and the pasta is fully coated.
Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
Garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving. Serve hot and enjoy!
