Raging Brachydios (Limusopugnus caeruleocutis) is the fictional species of theropod wyvern, a Brute Wyvern and a Variant of Brachydios first introduced in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate.
Brachydios is the combination in Latin words for "arm", bracchium, with obsidian of which its carapace is made of. Coincidentally, the name also has brachios (βραχιός) (Greek for "arm") and dios (Spanish for "god") in it. Therefore if you combine the two words, the name would literally mean "arm god".
It was dubbed God's Arms by Italic people, and modern Italian people first saw it several times. Coincidentally, the native name of Brachydios in Nigeria and Wakanda is Inqindiganaki, which means "reckless fist," which is why M'Baku and his companions spotted the Brachydios in Sub-Saharan African attacks on cities and villages, including Wakanda, employing explosive slimes on its arms.
Raging Brachydios sports a green shell with yellow-orange slime mold on its forelimbs, head, back, and tail that turns red when it becomes enraged. It is noticeably larger than normal Brachydios and moves slower as a result. Raging Brachydios is a rare unusual Brachydios individual with anomalous Slime Mold activation, believed to have evolved in a unique habitat. Raging Brachydios, like Brachydios, is classified as a Brute Wyvern.
The forelimbs and horn of Brachydios are covered in a mysterious, green slime called Blastmold (Qhumaphila inframanus).
Compared to the nominate species, Raging Brachydios is physically tougher, has a harder carapace, and has accumulated an abnormal type of slime mold that is far more volatile. The mold has explosive properties similar to that of its regular counterpart, but will detonate much faster and produce a much stronger blast when detached from its body. The slime mold will also turn red over time, becoming even more volatile to the point of exploding nigh-instantly on impact. Body parts with red slime may also shed the slime when damaged enough, causing a near-instant explosion at the cost of temporarily neutralizing that body part's explosive properties.
When pushed to its limits, some Raging Brachydios have been observed entering a further state of rage where it loses most of the slime on its body, which becomes cracked and scorched to the point of constantly smoking. In this mode, Raging Brachydios loses its usual explosive slime in favor of a molten, lava-like substance which burns anything in contact with it; Raging Brachydios will spread this over extremely wide areas, before causing it to simultaneously detonate with a roar. However, in this mode, its damaged shell makes it more vulnerable to attack, to the point where it will regularly damage itself with its own explosions.
Raging Brachydios performs the following attacks:
Explosive Punches: Raging Brachydios delivers powerful punches infused with explosive slime, leaving behind explosive puddles on the ground. Hunters need to be cautious of the lingering danger even after the initial strikes.
Slime Slam: Raging Brachydios slams its body onto the ground, causing explosive slime eruptions in the surrounding area. Evading the slam area is crucial to avoid taking damage and being covered in slime.
Leap and Slam: Raging Brachydios leaps into the air and performs a body slam, creating shockwaves and explosive slime eruptions upon impact. Evading to the side or finding cover is essential to avoid getting hit by this aerial assault.
Triple Explosive Pound: Raging Brachydios executes a sequence of three consecutive explosive punches, creating a hazardous trail of slime. Evading or blocking effectively is crucial to avoid being caught in the explosive onslaught.
Tail Slam and Explosion: Raging Brachydios slams its tail onto the ground, causing a powerful explosion. Staying clear of the tail slam area is essential to prevent taking damage from the ensuing blast.
Explosive Charge: Raging Brachydios charges at hunters with explosive slime covering its body, leaving a trail of hazardous puddles. Evading or using terrain effectively is necessary to avoid getting hit by this charging attack.
Explosive Aura: Raging Brachydios may enter a state where its body radiates an explosive aura, making all its attacks more potent. Hunters need to be extra vigilant during this heightened state of aggression.
Area Denial Explosion: Raging Brachydios performs a move that covers a significant portion of the battlefield with explosive slime. Hunters must be aware of the dangerous zones and carefully navigate the terrain.
Enraged State Combos: When enraged, Raging Brachydios may chain together multiple attacks seamlessly, requiring hunters to anticipate and adapt to its intensified assault patterns.
Explosive Burst Finisher: Raging Brachydios concludes some of its attack sequences with a powerful explosive burst. Hunters need to be prepared for these finishing moves and plan their evasive maneuvers accordingly.
Wildfire
One of the most distinctive and distinctive characteristics of Brachydios is undoubtedly the symbiotic slime mold called Blastmold. The mold produces explosive bursts upon hit, which the theropod's armored shell is strengthened to withstand. Because the skin of a Brachydios resembles that of a thermos flask, it can tolerate extremely high or low temperatures. Only in the body of Brachydios can this mold thrive without becoming explosive. Brachydios continuously scrapes large quantities of this mold off its body during attacks, which depletes it. But apparently, the beast's saliva serves as a potent stimulant, causing the mold to regrow practically immediately.
Brachydios is an apex predator who has proven to be capable of defeating other enormous predatory monsters such as Agnaktor. Brachydios competes against Agnaktor, Rathalos, Brute Tigrex, Teostra, Seregios, Glavenus, and Deviljho. With the unique slime mold at its disposal, as well as its great anger toward encroaching monsters and hunters, it would be a formidable opponent for most other predators. Brachydios will occasionally eat ore. Elder Dragons such as Alatreon, Crimson Fatalis, and Dire Miralis, as well as the Flying Wyverns Akantor and Ukanlos, pose a significant threat to Brachydios.
Raging Brachydios is a predator capable of taking on and even killing other large predatory monsters, just like Brachydios. In line with their chosen habitat and absurd strength, Raging Brachydios will encounter far more dangerous foes than regular Brachydios, but will fight them and potentially win nonetheless. Notably the other residents of Ingle Isle; Akantor, Teostra, Furious Rajang as well as the deviants of many powerful monster species such as Hellblade Glavenus, Dreadking Rathalos and Bloodbath Diablos.
In exceedingly rare occasions, they may be forced to flee their homes due to the presence of the Black Dragon Alatreon, and a Crimson Fatalis, both of which are unnatural existences far beyond the combat capabilities of other lifeforms. In the Guilding Lands, most likely competes with even more monsters, some being really powerful. This is still really hard to study since when a Raging Brachydios was sighted and hunted no other monsters were on the area, this could mean that this variant is so powerful and dangerous that most monsters prefer to leave the locale instead of risking to face it.
Raging Brachydios have many of the same adaptions as Brachydios, however, there is a few differences between them. Raging Brachydios are extremely large compared to normal Brachydios, but are only slightly slower than them. This size difference stems from their advanced age. The main adaption that puts them apart from normal Brachydios is the large amount of slime mold found on their body. This slime mold is unusually active on its forelegs, tail, back, and head due to a strange organ known as the Immortal Reactor.
This organ has a special relationship with the slime mold plus supposedly helps the Brachydios live longer. This organ is the reason why the slime mold is so active compared to normal Brachydios, making its attacks more powerful and making the slime mold breed more rapidly than before, and remains active even on the Raging Brachydios' body. This special slime mold is called Ancient Slime Mold, and acts as an explosive protection surrounding their whole body.
Ancient slime mold is not only more active then regular slime mold, but also explodes far more violently. This provides Raging Brachydios far more potent explosions that those of its peers. Indeed, these explosions are so powerful, even other blast resistant monsters, such as regular Brachydios, will die to this slime, their shells unable to withstand the sheer magnitude of these blasts. This forces Raging Brachydios to develop its own special Indestructible Ebonshell, to withstand its own explosions, lest it kill itself. This in turn provides it nigh-impenetrable protection from the natural weaponry of nearly all other living creatures. However, should a Raging Brachydios carelessly prime explosions while suffering damage to its shell, it too will be at the mercy of its offence.
Raging Brachydios are a lot more dangerous than Brachydios yet slightly slower. Due to this the Raging Brachydios makes up for the lack of speed for more powerful physical attacks, extreme endurance, and explosive force surpassing its normal cousins by a factor of magnitudes.
In the Old World, Raging Brachydios is only found within the Ingle Isle. In the New World, it can be found in volcanic areas, such as the Guiding Lands.
According to the United Nations and Agents of Shield, Brachydios was found in the Arabian Peninsula, the Indian subcontinent, mainland Southeast Asia, and East Asia.

T'challa and his comrades are instantly killed by Brachydios, but Shuri has been scarred by this beast since she was a young kid because of the Brachydios' attacks on northeastern Wakanda. She had a severe fear of this species because it was stronger than both Flint Marko and Tony Stark combined.
Prior to the events, Brachydios had never bothered any opponents until he loathed these onlookers and used slime molds on his fist, generating medium-sized explosions and incurring a cost. She intends to defeat not only normal Brachydios but also the true suspect, the Raging Brachydios that killed her brother, thus she's transformed into Black Panther with her melanistic Mngwa and normal Brachydios with Wakandan army.
