Dean Breathnach is the fictional character introduced in Weather Dragons: Ahtohallan's Recollection as main protagonist. He is the few remaining fomorians found in Ireland or Republic of Ireland, as the few purebred Fomorians for justice against Crom Cruach and Nuckelavee from Caledon Hockley's grandson Hector.

He's the only son and child of Pedro and Wednesday Breathnach, the true fomorians from the unexpected war hidden for many years.

Etymology

Dean is a boy's name of English origin. The Old English meaning of “valley” comes from the spelling dene, signifying someone who lived in a valley. Breathnach or Bhreathnach (meaning Welshman) is an Irish surname, indicating an ancestor who was Welsh. It is the Irish-language version of surnames such as Brannagh, Brunnock, Brannick, Walsh, Wallace, and Wallis.

Physical Appearance

Dean Breathnach is the human sized fomorian, a giant semiaquatic race of synapsid from Suminia of Russia, he is almost the same as therapsid than non-therapsid. He has hazel hair with a ponytail and in eyelashes, brownish skin that is immune to disease, being wetted and oiled, sharp nails and the ring finger was a function as a key that wasn't noticed by humans using a padlock. He also has hazel eyes. Dean wears any blue diamond from Ireland via France, including from Rose DeWitt Bukater.

Unlike the rest of his race, he was born in a rare condition for Fomorian that is a kind of dwarfism, the fomorians are larger than humans and taller than Terran giants. He belongs to the group with his family and allies called Beagmhéide in Irish word for "small-size".

Abilities

Dean Breathnach is the fomorian being adapted for both hot and cold regions in the Earth, including he can breath underwater using his larger lungs than humans, his hind legs are flippers for swimming. Unlike unrelated mermaids and mermen, fomorians lack underwater vision if wearing a blue diamond necklace or accessories as main protection.

Dean was very known to crafting anything like ingredients for recipes, weapons, tools, structures, recommendation for the materials and traps and strategies against traitors and enemies, lack of any fomorians from Dean. He wields Heart of the Ocean, this artifact owned by Rose Dawson before and he linked with Danu and Lugh, Dean was representing the wild or destructive powers of nature, chaos, darkness, death, blight and drought unlike rest of his own kind and rights for Ahtohallan and Norse mythology. His weapon Uaigneas Acas or Ace of Solitude, an ancient spear mixed with blue diamond as a weapon against the Eldritch Terrors.

Dean's skin, muscle, and bone tissue have many times the density of the same tissue in the body of a human being, making him nigh-invulnerable, much more so than regular Fomorians. Dean, like all other Fomorians, is not truly immortal. It is possible to kill a Fomorian and other beings in all realms if wearing blue diamond accessories. Unlike Fomorians, if wearing enchanted blue diamond accessories, its ability to manipulate its weight allows Dean to hurl at great speeds or alternatively by holding onto the rock or larger objects.

Dean uses his powers could project blasts, waves, and bolts of electrical energy of various sizes and intensities. While the spear and accessories collide can generate aether energy, it can channel more energy from the lightning storms it creates to summon its lightning and mixed for powerful energy attacks.

Due to his nails are weird and ring finger nails are able to crawl on any type of walls, even diagonal or celling.

Personality

Dean Breathnach was very curious and associates in humanity and other races than his own kind due to his encounter with Jack Dawson. He is the oldest member of the fomorian tribe called Beagmhéide, due to his special condition and his enhanced abilities from humans and in fairies, are main enemies to fomorians for humans in Ireland. He became sorrowful and enraged from Nuckelavee and later Crom Cruach using Uaigneas Acas or Ace of Solitude, an ancient spear mixed with blue diamond as a weapon against the Eldritch Terrors.

Later controlled by the goddess Danu, both her and Dean are connected into unknown to fomorians as Good Fomorian, a variant of this species who lived isolated and peaceful from harm.
