Beryl Okpe
“ It is useful to a member of the organism that lives in crystals and covers beryl gems; the Tehuelche people should be aware that this species was almost exclusively known. ”

The Beryl Okpe (Petragigantus compsoporcus) is a rare species of Okpe that was introduced in Weather Dragons. The first Tehuelche legendary monster of notoungulate in the Earth Responsibly series, clad in beryls.
Coming soon.
The Beryl Okpe is resembles their two closest relatives but for dark gray rock-like patches and hooves that akin to either basalt or black andesite with dark maroon skin. Some populations have a single rock piece on its back randomly with or without diverse beryl varieties if they are lived largely in caves, mostly are in surface without beryls. In contrast to the other two Okpe species, this one had extremely poor vision due to its peculiar habitat, which included beryl crystals of varying sizes and flora.
The Okpe is a fiercely guarded predator that is highly valued beneath the surface. Okpe slams, its own weight generating an earthquake. With the exception of weapons with long blades like hammers, its skin was extremely hard. It was also impervious to slicing weapons like swords.
The Okpe is semi-aquatic, or at least water-loving, like hippos and moose, despite having rock-based skin. Their dense bones suggest that they were adept at wading and submerging in shallow wetlands, and while they are not deep swimmers, they are at ease near marshes and rivers.
It produces fart beryl-related attacks and produces crystallization. Beryl Okpe shreds the sweat ducts, releasing perspiration containing beryl gems. Beryl Okpe flashes to release light outside the surface, but it only stuns adjacent opponents. Salted Okpe, unlike the usual one, inhales beryl gas, causing survivors and other species to crystallize. In revenge, Beryl Okpe thumps and slams his own body, immobilizing opponents with an earthquake and crystallization effect.
The Beryl Okpe is a herbivorous animal that does some geophagy as well. It mostly consumes grasses, leaves, shrubs, mosses, rocks, pebbles, minerals (mostly beryllium), and water plants. On the surface, this ungulate lives among toxodontids and xenatherians in both dry land and marsh environments. However, this species mostly inhabited unique habitats in subterranean areas, which altered the local ecology. One of the greatest herbivores in South America, the Beryl Okpe plays a key part in the construction of grasslands, wetlands, swamps, and mountains. Prior to more recent times, it has also served as prey for enormous predators such as saber-toothed cats, dire wolves, anacondas, humans, elephant seals, and giant crocodilians.
Likely viviparous (live birth), like all mammals
Okpe will gave birth to one large calf at a time
Long gestation, similar to rhinos (12–16 months)
Slow reproductive rate common for large herbivores
The Beryl Okpe is a slow-moving, semi-solitary animal that lives in small groups and spends a lot of time feeding or resting near water. They might have used water or mud for protection and cooling because they lacked water-based sweat glands. Like large herbivores, they might have become enraged or protective when assaulted. The Beryl Okpe is quite hostile due to its poor vision, hearing, and touch, but it has a keen sense of smell.
Habitat loss / degradation: water bodies drying up, wetlands drained or diverted, mountains will eroded, cutting down trees, loss of grasslands near water.
Hunting / poaching: Okpes are hunted for meat, skin, and their large canine “ivory.”
Human-wildlife conflict: as human settlements and agriculture expand, Okpes can come into conflict with humans (damage to crops, risk of attacks), which sometimes leads to killings or retaliatory hunts.
Regionally, some populations are more threatened than others; conservation efforts are uneven across the range.
IUCN Red List: Critically Endangered (CR)

Once, Okpe kidnapped an older youngster who was smart enough to hang onto a limb above and get away from its kidnapper. The youngster fled back to his village as Okpe searched for its prey and cried out for it to return. There, the skin of a mare was spread out on the ground after it was killed, as the Tehuelche do in times of need.
It slipped on the stretched hide and fell so heavily that its granite armor shook as Okpe trundled through after the youngster! In defeat, Okpe began to sob so much that his tears created a river as high as its fangs. The Tehuelche tribe was never bothered by it again.
This species was found in every episode of Earth Responsibly Universe with the Frozen series, The Owl House, Assassin's Creed, Monster Hunter, The Avengers, Agents of Shield, Fantastic Four, Spiderman, Venom, Street Fighter, Z Nation, The Walking Dead, every movie in 20th Century Studios, Mobile Legends, and Star Wars as part of Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure and Tangled Movie.
