The Desert Griffin (Leoaquilus afer; Greek: αμμώδης γρύπας "ammódis grýpas"; Arabic: غريفين الصحراء "ghirifin alsahra'"; Tajik: грифини биёбон "grifini bijobon") is the fictional species of griffin introduced in Historya Davvun and later series.
The derivation of this word remains uncertain. It could be related to the Greek word γρυπός (grypos), meaning 'curved', or 'hooked'. Greek γρύφ (gryph) from γρύφ 'hook-nosed' is suggested.
It could also have been an Anatolian loan word derived from a Semitic language; compare the Hebrew word for kherub/cherubim, כרוב kərúv.
Desert Griffin is a large griffin taller than their relatives, with mostly blackish brown feathers, brown skin and even a yellowish face, grayish brown claws, and orange wings. Their beak was whitish yellow with black tips.
One of the worst combination attacks is griffin, which also has a powerful dive-bomb, claw-swooping, and pecking attacks. The desert griffin also shoots sand or mud with saliva.

You can tame this Griffin with a crossbow. Wait 5-7 seconds between shots and there is no way you will kill it. Torpor raises over time, arrows/darts are not instant. Griffin was tranquilized by bullets and made unconscious, fed it while unconscious and used narcotics to continuously overdose.
All griffins are immediately domesticated when they hatch from an egg because the survivor is always within 17 radii of the hatching egg. If the griffin isn't already trained, you can train it with a stick, meat, fish meat, or clams.
