Tikbalang
“ These animals, a breed of horse-men from Ophir, deceive humans when they get lost in groves and rainforests. They can even bring you to their "Engkanto" realm. This species is the only surviving member of the chalicothere group of prehistoric creatures in this nation. ”

The Tikbalang (Hippops luzonica; Baybayin: ᜆᜒᜃ᜔ᜊᜎᜅ᜔, Jawi: تيکبلاڠ) is the one of the species of last remaining chalicothere first introduced in Historya Davvun series set in the 1990s, as one of main races along with humans, elfs, fairies, angels, and Isu race.
This animal was introduced or mentioned in The Last Stormtroopers, Seven Code Talkers, No Way to Seaway, Weather Dragons, Project Daejeon, Two Lights, Worldcraft, and Rescris series.
Given that the Tausugs have a word for horses, kura, which is probably derived from the Malay kuda, it is possible that some horses existed in some areas of pre-colonial Mindanao. However, this indicates that they were not indigenous and were most likely brought from Borneo.
Singular: Tikbalang
Plural: Tikbalangs, Tikbalang
Their physiology was somewhat altered, resulting in sexual dimorphism in species. The mare was thinner, lighter, and faster than the male, whereas the stallion is bulkier, stronger, and more attractive than the female. Many of Tikbalang's skin color and fur were influenced by biomes and environments comparable to Przewalski's horse and Icelandic horses as a result of human convergent evolution rather than demons, goblins, gnomes, or satyrs because this animal was a living fossil.
The tikbalang is dressed in precolonial period clothing with Arab-style armor plates, as described in historical books. From the twentieth century to the present, the Tikbalang has worn any cloth that humans wear today.
The Tikbalang were primarily born without magic, but some were born with magic and used it to mislead humans and other creatures as a sort of entertainment and environmental strategy. In certain accounts, the tikbalang can also shapeshift into human form or become invisible to people, resembling tricksters and doppelgangers. They enjoy leading travelers astray. Aside from magic, this beast used its claws on hands and hooves on legs to do a horse kick, allowing it to easily fly through the wooden door.
The Tikbalang was extremely clever and had the same IQ as humans, which is 80. However, the Tikbalang makes and uses human weapons such as the firearms, bow and arrows, shield, hammer, gada mace, swords and knives such as the sawfish's rostrum, fighting sticks, and others documented in historical books in the Philippines and around the world.
The Tikbalang produce and manage fire for protection, cooking, and warmth. The Tikbalang were expert hunters before to the arrival of Aetas and Filipinos. They utilized thrusting spears or knives to kill ancient Filipino creatures, such as elephants, tortoises, buffaloes, deer, dholes, tigers, and rhinoceroses, or even to attack Aetas and vice versa.
In the past, the Tikbalang constructed makeshift wooden or hide constructions and lived in caves and rock shelters. When pre-colonial foreigners and Filipinos arrive, the Tikbalang kidnap random slaves or soldiers in order to replicate human buildings using blueprints. As a result, the Tikbalang have mastered the art of shelter-building, and they now construct either temporary or permanent natural material-made structures for their own society.
The Tikbalang used to be able to speak their own language, but it was eventually supplanted by the languages of the Early Filipinos, Malays, and even precolonial foreigners living in and around the nation. The Tikbalang produced paints, beads, graves, and cave paintings, demonstrating civilization and self-awareness, much like humans did by enslaving slaves to infiltrate the concepts.

Tikbalang was a race and the last surviving chalicothere species in the universe. Although the Tikbalang is omnivorous, it primarily eats leaves, flowers, fruits, nuts, and roots. When necessary, it also consumes meat. Their own plant-based dishes, like soups, stews, fried foods, pickles, and bread, are comparable to those found in Chinese, Indian, Malay, Filipino, and other foreign countries.
Saltwater crocodiles, tigers (extinct in Palawan and Mindanao, exist in Indonesia), Javan leopards, and pythons are some of the Tikbalang's natural predators; they occasionally pose a threat to them and even compete with humans and other Terran races like fairies, elves, goblins, and others. As apex omnivores, the Tikbalang have influenced Philippine ecosystems in the past and present by hunting, scavenging, and either cooperating or competing with people.
In addition to providing medicine and care, the Tikbalang also used massage and herbal remedies to treat wounds and arthritis through the thoughts of enslaved humans. The Tikbalang had burial customs: Although the chalicothere is a mythological creature, there is no proof of its burial activity, and some of them purposefully buried their dead. In Tikbalang graves, flowers, candles, and paints may be used to create a tombstone-like appearance.
Rain from a clear sky is said to mean "may kinakasal/iisa-dibdib na tikbalang." (Tagalog: "a tikbalang is getting married"). This may have been related to a similar Spanish proverb that said a witch was getting married when it rained on a sunny day, though many cultures have similar sayings about trickster figures getting married (e.g., fox's wedding, bear's wedding, monkey's birthday/wedding). Folk Muslim marriages, military and martial arts focuses, superstitions, and even defeating our adversaries—including ourselves—were the only ways to achieve tikbalang.
Like tapirs or browsing rhinos, the Tikbalang lived alone or in large groups. Even before Europeans arrived, the original Tikbalang was not horse-like but rather a "demon" that had fled from God's homeland, therefore early Filipinos like Aetas or Austronesians may have observed or avoided them due to their huge claws, size, and strange appearance. The Tikbalang demonstrated strong familial ties by having a childcare facility and learning about nursing, protection, and caring for the sick and aged.
Although there is no conclusive evidence of war, the Tikbalang had long-standing conflicts with both humans and wildlife. Competition probably played a role in prehistoric warfare between the Tikbalangs and Homo luzonensis.
Tikbalang's populations were lower than humans, and their conservation status was Not Evaluated, just like humans and all Terran origin races.
Previously found only in the Philippines, the Tikbalang are now said to exist all over the world, including Antarctica. Forest borders, river valleys, and cave systems—near water and wildlife, even in urban areas—were the primary habitats. Despite living in tropical to maritime conditions, the Tikbalang eventually adapted to both tropical, subtropical, and temperate climates (found in Cordillera region and Mount Apo) in the Philippines.

Nestoritherium was evolved into smarter and dominating Tikbalang that we know today, and it mimics the culture of humanity. Nestoritherium become extinct by the "Gods" or other predators due to overhunting and the Tikbalangs were also modified and turned them into slaves before humans and elves existed in this world. After the Toba eruption, the Tikbalang populations in mainland Southeast Asia were eradicate of existence, except for the Philippines, which Tikbalang became the endemic species via boating or oceanic dispersal.
This animal was embody of Lord Vishnu and a Tikbalang is a tall, bony humanoid (half human half horse) creature with the head and hooves of a horse and disproportionately long limbs, to the point that its knees reach above its head when it squats down. In some versions, it is a transformation of an aborted fetus sent to earth from limbo. The scientists from the Order of Assassins, the Templar Knights, and the Monster Hunter noticed that how Tikbalang is not a horse, but the descendant of Nestoritherium.
Association with Tikbalang began around the 1860 discovery of a statue in Cambodia during the 10th century. It portrayed the demons that Vadavamuka, the more radical version of the avatar of Vishnu. Eventually, Buddhism changed the image of Hayagriva into a small horse's head floating in a crown of fire.
In mainland China, provided the old image of Hayagriva face with horses – one of the keepers of the demon of an inferno. The same thing probably happened to the Tikbalang as the Filipinos adopted it in their beliefs after exacting culture through trade. Nine hundred years before the Spaniards arrived, Chinese merchants settled in the Philippines and used horses and in Old Tagalog called kuda or kura, before turned into kabayo in Early Modern Tagalog via Spanish language was caballo.
Queen Arianna noticed on her notes from 1990s Monster Hunter members in Malaysia about the biology and ecology of the Tikbalang. In year 1994 AD, Indonesia become the hotspot for migrating Tikbalang in Sulawesi and Flores (Indonesia) after moving from Lanao del Sur using canoes.
Acunya Dola, a Tikbalang in the Historya Davvun series, is the sole primary ally of Francisco Muller, a Cherokee from Lithuania who would eventually be descended from Queen Arianna and Antonio Pierre, Rapunzel's mother and stepfather in the 1990s. Dola is a selfless and deuteragonist tikbalang whose real parents perished in the seas while heading to Hawaii. Black American adoptive parents found him in California and kept his true name. Dola feels that he must locate Francisco Muller and Nilan Punzalan Pradep, the two people who saved him. His foster father, Cesar Jameson, loves this Tikbalang kid as his biological son.
Jameson is a member of the Templar Order, and he want to join his son in the faction. However, Dola was completely mistaken, as the faction is the adversary of both Monster Hunter and Assassin Order members. Despite being despised by many because he is a true monster, he wants to fight for the Templars and protects his companions from harm.
Everything changed in 1997 when a tikbalang and his human companions were executed by the firing squad for disobedience and being fixated on Diana Spencer, who had rebelled against their own faction. Only Francisco Muller and Taleyah Dhosah survive after the Templar Knights on the Himalayas slaughtered Acunya's adopted parents. Taleyah Dhosah, an Agarthan rather than an Uzbek, she cries to call forth the surrounding Yeti.
Francisco Muller, an Isu-Human hybrid descended from the "Gods," is in charge of the Yeti, and his waking Sundrop Flower magic caused some of the Templars to take their own lives. The tikbalang was murdered and buried in the Himalayas, Acunya died from blood loss from the firing squad, Francisco is insane, and he and his girlfriend managed to flee with the Yeti. Following the incident, Francisco's handbag was filled with pictures of his friends before they were put to death by the Templars. Nilan Punzalan Pradep was filled with pain and disdain when he revealed what Francisco had said after seeing the tikbalang in Francisco's group photo. He knew how selfishness had killed both humans and even the mythical creature.
Many artists and some people know that Tikbalang is considered a living fossil. A Tikbalang from Cebu, Dilao Belasko-Nagakoda is the friend of a human named James Galicinao from Ilocos Norte and now Hawaii. He is the grandpa of Ronaldo and Paolo Kealani, the father of Maia Galicinao-Kealani and Alina Galicinao, and the son-in-law of Kahiau Kealani of Hawaii. In this time on January 2014, Desmond Miles and Shay Cormac were targeted by the Tikbalang in Cebu City were the Templars were imploded by Phuwiangosaurus and the Tikbalangs were also crushed to death by Phuwiangosaurus's wrath. Any Tikbalang become allied to the Templars, Assassins, and Hunters who knows about Diana Spencer's death and Dilao joined the fight against Abstergo Industries using both Holocene and Late Cretaceous animals.
